Burton Team Member Wins First-Ever Back-to-Back Titles

March 18th, 2010 by pretweetajob

Peetu Piiroinen won the TTR World Title last year but he did not look back once this year got going. The TTR World Title is based on a rider's best 6 finishes. Peetu earned the first of his 6 early this year at the Air & Style Big Air Event in Innsbruck, Austria where he won second place. He then earned two 3rd place finishes in halfpipe and slopestyle at the O'Niell Evolution contest in Davos, Switzerland. Sitting in fourth place at this point in the season, he knew he would need to really show up if he wanted to win another title. He did just that when he took home 1st place in both slopestyle and halfpipe at the European Open. His Burton Boots were holding up well. With those wins he moved into 1st place on the season. After a quick detour from the circuit to take 2nd place, at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he returned to take 1st place in the Arctic Challenge in Norway. This win came against a field of very experienced and skilled competitors and his Burton Bindings were a great asset. The Arctic Challenge win not only won Peetu the TTR World Title but with that he became the first-ever back-to-back title winner.

A Little Bit About Airsoft

March 11th, 2010 by pretweetajob

Airsoft began in Japan during the middle 1970's. During this time, ownership of a firearm by a regular citizen was against the law there. Hobbyists began creating high end replicas of Firearms. The very first models were spring-powered and fired plastic pellets. These firearm replicas became more and more common in the Japanese Marketplace and eventually made their way to China, Korea, The Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Replicas were popular there because of the similar firearm restrictions in those countries. Later the replicas poured into the US and UK where they were highly sought after. Since then, Airsoft Pistols and Airsoft Rifles have come a long way, moving from spring-loaded to gas powered. Airsoft is often mistaken with Paintball and, while the two games are similar, they have some key differences. Airsoft guns have been well developed over the many years and a high quality model can be obtained for less money than a Paintball gun. Paintball uses balls of paint whereas Airsoft uses plastic or metal pellets that do not burst upon impact.

NordicTrack Treadmills

March 11th, 2010 by pretweetajob

Nordic Track has been around for over 20 years selling a variety of fitness machines, including the ever so popular treadmill. They began with the Nordic Track Skiers and moved on to making treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, steppers, etc.

  • NordicTrack treadmills are known to be a cornicopia of features. CoolAire™ Fans, CardioGrip™ Heart Rate Monitor, Carb Counter™, DuraSoft V™ Impact Cushioning, 1-Step™ Pulse Monitor are just a few of the many features available with their most affordable treadmills. There are manybuilt-in features in the display so that the treadmills will suit each users excersize needs and style. Here are some details on these features.

  • The Reflex Deck™ technology has become a very popular feature for many treadmill users. This technology allows the deck to flatten and absorb the impact, as you push down on the belt, instantly springing back to its original shape. The soft surface puts less impact on your knees, and offers a comfortable workout.
Note: If you are a serious runner who competes a lot, you may want a rougher deck that simulates the road or track.

  • Nordic Track is renowned for making very compact treadmills. Its treadmills have a unique look and feel to them that is eye-catching to many fitness consumers. In summary, they aren’t monstrous treadmills that have a lot of trouble fitting in your home, but they are well sized for home use.

  • Icon Health and Fitness has been searching overseas more and more to get better parts for a less expensive price. This has enabled them to raise Nordic Track‘s performance of drive motors and lengthen their warranties.
